Academic achievement
Celebrate learning milestones, thoughtful work and improvement. Make academic effort part of collective house pride.
Build school culture through friendly competition that reaches every corner of school life. Use your house system to recognise different strengths, celebrate your values and invite more students to take part.
These are ideas your school can adapt, not automated tracking features. Staff award house points for the contributions your community chooses to recognise.
Make everyday contributions part of your shared school story.

Where appropriate, recognise engagement with learning through an inclusive attendance initiative. Account for illness, disability and circumstances beyond a student's control.

Bring houses together around reading goals. Celebrate participation, new discoveries and personal progress, not only the highest book count.
Notice students putting school values into practice. Recognise respectful choices and contributions to a positive learning environment.

Keep the excitement of carnivals and fixtures while recognising involvement, perseverance and sportsmanship alongside results.
Notice collaboration in classrooms, clubs, performances and on the field. Celebrate how students help a group succeed together.
Begin with a few school values and a manageable set of opportunities. Agree on a consistent points approach with staff, explain it clearly and review who has opportunities to participate.
Staff enter house-level awards manually. School House Comp does not import attendance, monitor behaviour or track individual students. Keep names and identifying student details out of award reasons.
Share progress at assemblies and recognise the effort behind the totals. Keep competition friendly, varied and accessible so your house system supports belonging rather than exclusion.
